Becoming pregnant when you didn't intend to can be a big shock, whatever your circumstances. Our trained practitioners will help you understand your individual circumstances so that you can decide what to do next.
If you find yourself pregnant and have no idea what to do, you may benefit from our impartial, non-judgemental and confidential Pregnancy Choices support. This can be a very scary, confusing and worrying time. You may feel pressured into making decisions quickly, when there appear to be no easy answers. Talking through your thoughts and feelings in a safe place can help you work out the best way forward. Our trained practitioners help you understand your individual circumstances so that you can decide what to do next. We can also help if you have had a diagnosis of foetal abnormality and are worried about what happens next.
Our support is compassionate, non-directive and non-judgemental. We provide accurate and balanced information on all the options and can direct you to the local services you need, whatever you choose.
Please note: Because we are not part of the medical system we cannot refer you directly for antenatal care or termination. This allows us to give you impartial support. Our practitioners work within the Ethical Framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), respecting the autonomy of clients when making their choices.
If you are concerned about the results and don't want to face it alone, we offer free, confidential pregnancy testing at our centre. If you have missed your period by 3 days or more, please bring a small sample of your early morning urine in a clean container to the centre.
The results will be during your appointment, so you are welcome to bring a family member, partner or friend with you for support. We will offer unbiased support with information, time and space for you to consider your options. Further appointments can be made for you to do this.
